Can I become a crew member?
Do I have to be experience?
What's required?

Going sailing as a crew member isn't just for regatta pros

Sailing Friends = Crew Member

Theoretically, anybody can become a crew member (also known as sailing friend).  You don't have to be an old sea dog, to come along with us. And just because you've never been along, that doesn't mean that you will only get to sit around like a bump on a log and gaze at the scenery, either.  Everybody gets the opportunity to help - whether it be raising the sails, trimming the sails, anchoring the boat, sailing or making lunch, if you want to do that, too.  We love it, when people ask questions about sailing, and are really happy if you want to help sail the boat, because your help is just as important as the skipper's help.  You see, when you sail with us, you're part of the crew, and not a passenger on the Love Boat.

 on half the fun

Requirements

You should be able to swim without any help or having to hold onto anything, for at least 15 minutes - otherwise you will have to wear a life jacket the whole time.
You should be healthy enought to go on this kind of trip.  If you aren't sure, ask your doctor.
You should be able to get along with people well - a sailboat is no place for people who like to be all by themselves.
You need to have some team spirit - helping others should be fun for you, too.
You have to be at least 16 years old, if you plan to come without at least one of your parents.

Having a positive attitude and being able to get along with other people are the keys to a pleasant holiday.  Of course, everyone is peculiar in his own way, but you should just try to not take this too seriously, and it will make the trip a lot more fun.  Politeness and consideration are very important.

As crew member, you'll sometimes find yourself being the cook, the guest, the maid or butler, the helmsman, the storyteller, the listner, the navigator, or even the craftsman.  No one has fixed duties. Ladies won't be sentenced to be galley slaves, and not just the men get to steer the ship.
